Hand Cast And Hand Painted Gonk
Using silicone moulds, I hand cast plaster items to then paint and decorate. I pour a hard density plaster into the mould, then once dry, hand paint and dot/embellish. Being entirely hand painted, each piece is unique, even if completed in a similar style. I welcome bespoke commissions where the customer can have complete control over hair/beard colour, and clothing. Within reason, I can include letters and numbers to truly personalise the piece. I will often add embellishments such as hand cast leaves, flowers, fungi etc, or ready made gems or berries.
Additional Details
Although the entire process can take a number of hours due to many drying stages, I am in complete control of stock levels and can effectively cast on demand, meaning customers can be assured of getting the item that they want in a timely manner. Each gonk will have 2 or 3 sprayed coats of varnish, giving them a glossy shine.
