Chubby Bird
I hand cast plaster items using silicone moulds. My process begins by picking one of my many moulds and hand mixing the correct plaster to water ratio for the moulds I've chosen. I personally mix it this way as I can feel the lumps easier. Once mixed, I quickly and carefully pour the mixture into each mould, working quickly as it's a fast setting plaster.
Once they're set I demould and leave to fully dry. This can take anything between a few hours up to several days.
Then it's time for the fun to begin, as I pick my colour pallete.

These delightful little birds measure just 75mm/2.9" long, 48mm/1.9" wide and 53mm/2.1" tall. Each one is individually painted by myself, meaning that no two pieces will be identical, giving the customer a truly unique gift. Although I often use a similar colour pallete on more than one piece, the design itself will vary. I aim to have pieces ready to send where possible, but I do love to create bespoke commissions, so please get in touch if you'd like that special gift.
