WELCOME TO BIRKBECK We are a small soul-driven Apothecary from Buckinghamshire where our mission is to make you feel great. All our blends are designed with a purpose. Whether it be to heal, delight or relax. We use only the finest, purest ingredients for our candles, bath salts, essential body oils from the earth, ethically sourced and made in small fresh batches for quality to keep you and your family safe. We hope you love what we do.

How did House of Birkbeck get started?

After 30 years of teaching children and supporting parents, I decided it was time to do something different. I have always loved being creative and wanted to create things that made me happy. I have always loved candles but wanted to make them sustainable so chose coconut wax that where natural. In time I make for family and loved it so much, I went to market.

The elephant is a nod to growing up in Asia, this is such a clever loving creature and the monkey is a nod to Hartlepool where my family originated.

A bit about where your lovely purchases are coming from

All the products are made at home. Handmade and hand-poured. The ingredients are all sourced from the UK to make sure they are ethical and good quality and to reduce our carbon footprint.

It is always a scary time, opening up a small business but I can assure you, all my love and happiness are poured into these products. Do let me know if you have any feedback.
